Is there Gold in Ohio?
Yes! Originally discovered in 1868 on the banks of the East Fork of the Little Miami River, outside a small town called Batavia, Ohio. With the California Gold Rush still fresh on everyone’s minds, the discovery led to it’s own miniature gold rush in Clermont County. A handful of investors came together and formed the short-lived Batavia Mining Company. After building the needed equipment and buildings, it was sadly realized that while gold was present, it was not in quantities sufficient to support commercial operations, and the Batavia Mining Company closed its doors. The gold in Ohio tends to be very small, owing to it’s Next Epoch™ Delivery provided by Canada’s very own Glacier’s Unlimited. Or in otherwords, a few hundred tons of ice and rock ground this gold out of its original host rock, then ground it some more on its way into Ohio. As the glaciers melted, this gold then found it’s way into the streams and rivers of the Buckeye State.

About My Paydirt
Currently, it is illegal to harvest or remove sands, soils, and gravels from the streams and lakes of Ohio without permit. Although I am working on securing said permits, my paydirt will be fully “synthetic,” meaning it will be an accumulation of sands and gravels I have procured through legal means. This also means that the gold will be added in by hand, in order to guarantee the amount purchased.
